Whisky Live Paris 2011

Thanks to an evolution in approaches to consumption, the universe of fine spirits has come to a consensus and now offers the same opportunities and choices to both men and women.

Whilst the theme of the 2010 edition of Whisky Live Paris relied heavily on the concept of different spirits complementing each other, Whisky Live Paris 2011 aims to go even further, adopting as its theme the notion of masculine-feminine duality.

The goal will be to confront different points of view, simplifying discussion with, and approaches to, each of the many distilleries and brands present.

The Eight Edition

Following on from « Multimedia » in 2009 and « Fine Spirits, Gourmet Minds » in 2010, the theme of Whisky Live Paris 2011 will be « Tasting Duos. »

• One Brand, One Distillery, Two Tastings

For each brand or distillery, two different expressions, two versions will be on tasting – new releases, limited expressions, established classics – emphasising the difference in style. This duo set-up, as well as favouring a more moderate and responsible rate of consumption, will be the occasion for discussion and exchange. It will be the ideal opportunity to analyse the reaction of the public, in particular in terms of male and female preferences.

• One Stand, One Category, Two Specialists.

In order to breathe life into this theme, a number of expert, male-female duos – distillers, master blenders, journalists – will be on hand to share their knowledge all throughout Whisky Live Paris 2011: a complete pedagogical approach distilled into a sound message and delivered by specialists from both sexes.

• One Bar, One Bartender, Two Cocktails

At the centre of a specially created and dynamic space, six famous Parisian bars well be on stage. These bars have been chosen for the excellence of their hospitality and the quality of the cocktails they propose. They will each present two different creations, two must-try cocktails from their extensive menus, in a bartending show of skill.
